1. Core Definition
VDA355 is a standardized lithium-ion battery module specification issued by VDA (Verband der Automobilindustrie / German Association of the Automotive Industry).
The number "355" stands for its fixed standard length: 355 mm
Unified outer dimension: 355 mm (L) × 151 mm (W) × 108 mm (H)
It was originally developed for Volkswagen’s MEB electric vehicle platform and later adopted as a global universal automotive battery standard by most OEMs and cell manufacturers (CALB, CATL, A123, etc.)

New vs Used VDA355 Module
1. Visual Inspection
New: Scratch-free aluminum shell; shiny unburnt busbars; intact torque paint marks on screws; dry cooling ports; complete factory protective film; no re-welding or re-gluing.
Used: Polished scratches, darkened busbars; misaligned screw paint marks; re-taped terminals; coolant residue at cooling ports.

2. Label & Serial Number Check
New: Sharp laser engraving without sanding; consistent production batch/date for module and internal cells.
Used: Sanded original codes with blurry reprinted labels; cell production dates much earlier than module label.

3. Electrical Test
Cell voltage difference: New NCM <20mV, LFP <30mV; Used >50mV
Internal resistance: New cells fluctuate within 5%; Used cells over 15% higher
Capacity: New ≥98% rated capacity; Used mostly below 90%
