6.5Ah high-capacity cylindrical cylinder helps increase the robot's battery life by 30%

6.5Ah high-capacity cylindrical cylinder helps increase the robot's battery life by 30%

In 2025, the wave of embodied intelligence is surging, and the robot industry is on the eve of a boom. From industrial manufacturing to urban security, from warehousing and logistics to home care, robots are constantly leaving the laboratory and integrating into every corner of real life. In this process, batteries are becoming an "invisible bottleneck" that restricts the true implementation of robots. Especially in complex-shaped robots such as humanoid and quadruped ones, issues like short battery life, insufficient power output, and low energy replenishment efficiency have become the focus of attention in the industry.
The challenge is clear: the battery cells must be upgraded. For robots, the energy system not only determines the sustainability of a single task execution but also profoundly affects the deployment cost and stability of the product in commercial and civilian scenarios. Traditional cylindrical cells are mainly products with a capacity of around 4-5Ah, which are difficult to meet the application requirements of all scenarios such as long-term operation, high-power action, and support from high-performance computing chips. In the current era of continuous improvement in intelligence, battery cell solutions with larger capacity, higher rate and better thermal management have become an essential need.

Tenpower and Molicel have jointly launched a 6.5Ah cylindrical cell
To address the core pain points in the robotics industry, Tianpeng Power has collaborated with Molicel to launch a brand-new high-capacity cylindrical cell - the 21700-M65A. This product was officially launched at The Battery Show Europe and Eurobike in Germany in June this year and is expected to enter mass production soon.

The M65A has the following core advantages:
1) Capacity has been broken through to 6.5Ah: Compared with the current mainstream battery cell solutions, the overall battery life has been increased by approximately 30%.

2) Support 4C discharge rate: Ensure stable output for robots during high-power actions such as jumping, loading, and sprinting.

3) Balance energy density and safety: While increasing capacity, maintain excellent thermal stability and cycling performance;
4) Mature process mass production: Tianpeng Power's domestic and overseas factories all have the capacity for large-scale delivery, ensuring stable supply in the future.
The launch of this product marks that the battery cells for robots have officially entered a new stage of "high capacity + high performance" in parallel.

The energy density target of solid-state cylindrical cells has exceeded 400Wh/kg. With higher safety, longer lifespan and wider temperature range adaptability, Tianpeng Power's solid-state cylindrical 21700-60HES has now entered the verification stage and has the foundation for mass production
